Tell Sid

I heard you're up for tender
and everyone wants a piece of you
All the worldly men are offering the world
But everything I have I gave
Making my bid

And the rent you can't afford to pay
To the man who bought everything that you own
All the roads they built over our green and pleasant land
Crumble 'neath the wheels you sold our souls for

Go tell Sid
Tell him lies
Tell him Everything
Go tell Sid
Go Tell him

And you wonder if your kids will make it in society
shut up on their tablets
Bread and circus, sports TV
And you want to live in an idle paradise
you play the game of life
but you've thrown away the dice

Go tell Sid
Tell him lies
Tell him everything
Go tell Sid
Tell him lies
Tell him everything

Nobody every loved someone and gave themselves up whole
Give him your body but save me your soul
Nobody every loved someone and gave themselves up whole
Give him your body but save me

Foul Weather Friend

You’d do well to keep in mind
A good friend can be hard to find
With many hats to wear
Therapist and cheerleader

You tell me that you couldn’t live
Without the help and time I give
You’re very grateful for
All the things you use me for

And suddenly a windfall
And you’re ignoring my call
Right on cue your life turned nice
By following my advice
Then you mess it up once more
And come banging on my door
Help me please help me please
It’s all turned awry

Foul weather friend
You only phone me when you’re lonely
only call me when you need me
Only ring me when you’re feeling foil
Foul weather friend
You only phone me when you’re lonely
You only call me when you need me

And suddenly back again
Sending paragraphs at 2am
Now we plan the attack
Get your life back, back on track
And you say you think the world of me
So good for you, good for me

And suddenly a windfall
And you’re ignoring my call
Real human connection
Following my direction
Then you mess it up once more
And come banging on my front door
Help me please help me please
I’m in love

Foul weather friend
You only phone me when you’re lonely
Foul weather friend
You only call me when you need me

Sweet and Proper

I thought we’d been through all this before

Nobody’s winning fighting somebody else’s wars

So they’ve gone and found a cause

The standard display of banners and tears

Calls to action, stoking up fears

Nobody’s winning fighting somebody else’s wars

So they’ve gone and a found a cause

Your Pro-state prostrate penniless peers

Proudly promoting some puffed up ideas

Nobody’s winning fighting somebody else’s wars

sweet and proper

Nobody’s winning

Finally, liberty, egality, fraternity

Are about to be won after all of eternity

Some stroke of luck to find that we’re alive

In time for all that and for channel five

Victory demands obedience, whole

Stand up, and lay down your God given soul

Finally, harmony, with heavier security

If not for our enemy would be a reality

Some lucky turn to find out you’re the key

Loyalty, treachery what will it be?

Finally, liberty, egality, fraternity

Are about to be won with your urgency
